Welsh Government announces £26m support package to support small charities.

small charities

Thousands of small charities in Wales will be eligible to receive a £10,000 business support grant to help navigate the financial impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

This new £26m package is an extension to the existing Covid-19 grants scheme and will support an additional 2,600 properties in the retail, leisure and hospitality sector with a rateable value of £12,000 or below.

This includes charity-run shops, sports premises and community centres which, until now, have not been eligible for this type of support.

This funding package is in addition to other financial support measures which charities may already be eligible to apply for, such as the Job Retention Scheme and the Economic Resilience Fund.

We understand the ongoing challenges facing the charity sector. If you need any specialist advice from our team of legal experts about the impact of COVID-19 on your organisation, call us on 02920 224433 or contact our Charity team lead, Rebecca McCarthy via McCarthyR@loosemores.co.uk.
