The Q&A series continues with Trainee Solicitor, Isabella Hughes.
Can you tell me a bit about yourself and explain the type of work you do at Loosemores Solicitors?
I started my training at Loosemores in February 2021 and I am currently a third seat trainee in the Employment and Dispute Resolution department. Since joining the department I have assisted with drafting witness statements, attending a meeting with counsel in preparation for the hearing and meeting with clients. I have previously completed training seats in the Property and Corporate/Commercial departments.
What do you find rewarding about your work?
I really enjoy the client facing side of my role. It has been great meeting people from the Welsh business community and seeing first-hand some of the exciting businesses coming out of Wales.
You are clearly passionate about Wales, wyt ti’n siarad Cymraeg?
Rwy’n siarad Cymraeg yn rhugl. Es i ysgol Gymraeg a dwi’n siarad Cymraeg adre. Dwi wedi cael y cyfle i ddefnyddio fy Nghymraeg wrth weithio yn Loosemores gyda chydweithwyr a chleientiaid.
What has been your highlight so far since joining Loosemores?
I recently represented Loosemores at the Cardiff Arms Park by participating in a firewalk. We were able to raise over £500 for Maggie’s Cardiff. It was something I never thought I would be doing when I joined the firm. It was an amazing experience and a fantastic opportunity to support a charity I care about.
