The Q&A series continues with our residential property solicitor, Amanda Fan-Watkins.
Where did you grow up?
I lived in lots of different places, ranging from Bath, Hong Kong, Swansea to Cardiff.
How have you found your time at Loosemores?
Enjoyable and rewarding as it is great to have positive feedback from my clients at the end of the property transaction.
What’s your career highlight?
My career highlights have been helping my clients achieve their goals, whether it be their first step on to the property ladder or moving into their dream family home.
What career did you see yourself going into when you were at school?
What are your hobbies?
My 8 year old twins are my hobby. They keep me occupied, so I don’t need any other hobbies!
Your go-to coffee order?
I hated coffee sweets when I was a child so that put me off trying coffee. I wouldn’t know where to start with there being so many coffee options. Tea is my go-to.
Rugby or Football?
Football. I used to watch the World Cup tournaments with my dad as a child. I remember watching Diego Maradona’s opening goal in a 2-1 Argentina win over England in the quarter-final which turned out to be the most infamous and controversial goal in World Cup history.
If you could invite anyone to dinner (dead or alive), who would you choose?
Keanu Reeves. I grew up watching him and always loved his films.
What would be your advice to law students trying to build a career in law?
Work hard and the rest will follow.
