Powers of Attorney are used to appoint a named person to undertake action on behalf of the person granting the power of attorney. Various types are available and we can advise on the most appropriate type for your circumstances:

• Specific Power of Attorney - for example to sell a house.
• General Power of Attorney - the attorney can undertake any action that could be done by the person granting the power of attorney whilst he/she retains mental capacity.
• Lasting Power of Attorney - can be specific or general and will still apply even if the mental capacity of the person granting the power of attorney diminishes. We also handle the registration procedures required for these and the former Enduring Powers of Attorney.
